With over 40 years in the construction industry, Alan has accumulated a great deal of experience in design and project management over a range of building types. Much of this experience has been in education and community based projects, with schools ranging from single classroom extensions to multi-million pound new build and extension projects. In recent years, one of Alan’s projects has been the £6 million restoration of a 1930’s Art Deco Lido at Broomhill in Ipswich, which will bring this important Lido back into public use.
Alan’s experience ranges over many different sectors and he has also been involved in tutoring and mentoring younger people advancing their careers, including guest involvement in assessments and judging the work of students at the University of Suffolk. He remains an enthusiast for good design and for architecture as a positive contribution to society and the environment.
